Home, Not Alone
The mission of the Home, Not Alone (HNA) program is to provide free pet food to low-income pet owners through partnerships with local senior centers/communities and Meals on Wheels of Tarrant County. Don’t Forget to Feed Me provides free, pre-portioned pet food to qualified seniors at participating partners on a regular schedule.
Often, senior pet owners are on extremely limited incomes (Medicaid, VA assistance, Social Security) and will take food from their own tables to feed their companion animals. These pets may be their only real companions and provide a sense of purpose and a feeling of being needed.
Donations are designated to this program as indicated. Choose “Home, Not Alone” under “Fund” and/or add memo/notation on donation.
DF2FM does not give pet food directly to individuals; it is supplied to our distribution partners. Individuals seeking pet food assistance need to visit a distribution partner to get pet food. Contact the partner directly to confirm eligibility requirements and distribution specifics.
Pet food received via DF2FM is meant to keep pets in their homes and should not be used for strays, feral colonies, fosters, etc. While we understand the need, we have limited resources and must stay within our mission. Please contact the appropriate agencies for assistance.
